Keely Johnson and Lee Kernaghan - Turn This To Gold
For 16-year-old Keely Johnson from Ayr in Queensland, the chance to meet and record a song with her country music idol, Lee Kernaghan, was a dream she never thought would be possible. That was until Make-A-Wish® Australia stepped in and granted Keely’s special wish.

Diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer, which attributed to a brain tumour affecting her growth and development since age 10 – Keely has been through more than most kids her age.

Keely and Lee’s song, titled ‘Turn This To Gold’, was written by Keely and is about her battle with cancer and what it’s like for seriously ill children, like her, to spend their days in hospitals undergoing treatment for their illnesses.

“I wanted to write and record a song with Lee as I’ve always been a huge fan and have loved his songs for years. Turn This To Gold is a way for me to raise awareness for childhood cancer and also raise money for Make-A-Wish,” said Keely.

In a heart-warming twist, Keely requested that all proceeds from her song go to Make-A-Wish to help grant wishes to other seriously ill children, like her.
