Cloud Control - Promises

Cloud Control - Promises
Recorded for the album live, ‘Promises’ follows Cloud Control’s first Dream Cave releases, ‘Dojo Rising’ and ‘Scar’. These three tracks showcase the band cherishing their elegant psychedelic pop whilst cutting loose from their roots and embracing a spirit of experimentation best exemplified by a Check Your Head-era Beastie Boys or a Led Zeppelin record.

Dream Cave entered the stratosphere as the follow up to Cloud Control’s stellar AMP Award winning and ARIA Award nominated Bliss Release. The record landed to significant praise with it currently in the Top 30 at College Radio in the US, it saw triple j making it their Feature Album, FBi Radio the Album Of The Week and BBC6 their Album Of The Day. Dream Cave also received a slew of 4/5 reviews from the Daily Telegraph, The Australian, Sun Herald and The Guardian. This time around the band shacked up in the picturesque English county of Kent with producer Barney Barnicott who has worked with artists such as The Arctic Monkeys, The Temper Trap and Spiritualized.

Following the success of their Australian Dream Cave Tour, Cloud Control recently wrapped up the US and UK/EU legs of Dream Cave dates and are currently in Europe supporting Local Natives. The guys will be back in town for St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival next year!

About this track...

Opening with a commanding baseline, the intensity and desperation of ’Promises’ cuts in quick with front man, Alister Wright’s, raw '50s crooner vocals “Maybe that, harmony, promises, happiness, I'm just a mirror for your love”, a style of which we haven’t heard before Dream Cave
