A tight and sweet display of 90's grunge/pop prowess - followed by extensive local radio play and supports including international legends The Growlers - all signaled good things were to come for the band, so in that sense their new single - "hello" - is no surprise.
What is surprising is how the band have pushed their sound into truly anthemic territory. The huge chorus guitars retain their bite, but now they're contrasted by lush atmospheric verses. The vocals still soar and punch through the mix, but now they're more controlled and melodic than ever.
You can tell this is their second collaboration with producer Darek Mudge (Screamfeeder, Tired Lion) and mastering engineer Bryce Moorhead (Violent Soho), the trust and rapport developed is evident in everything from the expanded dynamics to the more polished sound.
