Lorrpu - Lorrpu     Indigenous, Pop, World, Folk 29/07/2016
Lorrpu was born into a musical family, including most of the Gulf Country legends from Arnhem Land. His father was the keyboard player for legendary Top End band, Soft Sand.
The demo version of his song “Lorrpu” (meaning White Cockatoo) won NT Pop Song of the Year in 2013 and is based on an Aboriginal legend of his homeland, sung exclusively in the Yolngu language of Gupapuyngu.

This debut album features songs in Gupapuyngu, Pitjantjatjara and English.

Dhapanbal is a daughter of the famous lead singer of Yothu Yindi. She believes the preservation/transmission of her culture is crucial and this connection can be heard throughout her music.
Gurtha (pronounced Gore-ta) translates to 'The Fire'. This song is based on the Gumatj Songline about the fire that travelled through various Yolngu clans lands.

La Ola is the second single from San Lazaro’s 'La Despedida' Album. A bouncing piece of psychedelic garage cumbia featuring twangy guitars, ‘down the well’ echo vocals and bumping oompah bass.

Heavily influenced by the “Chicha” sound of 1970s Peru and the classic cumbias of Colombia’s Discos Fuentes label.
