Fans of Bleeding Knees Club will find much to love here - if possible, Wax Witches is even more snotty, frantic, dumb, lo-fi and badass than the songs that have sealed the Queensland duo's party-punk reputation these past few years. As evidenced on 2013's debut album "Celebrity Beatings", Wax Witches' brat-blast noise-pop and gonzo garage-rock channels Wall's professed love of California punk and psych culture, from The Descendents through to Ty Segall, and also evinces his own American heritage (he was born in Monterey and moved to Australia as an infant).
Upon its unveiling, Drum Media said "It sits somewhere between Descendents and Black Flag, with the attitude of a restless teenager and the signature haziness of noise-pop". As well as its Australian release, the Wax Witches album dropped in the USA - LA label Burger Records (home to releases by Black Lips, King Tuff and others) issued "Celebrity Beatings" on cassette.
On the live front, Wax Witches have played shows with Thee Oh Sees, The Grates, Step-Panther and Go Violets.
