Thornhill - Nurture

Thornhill - Nurture
The Dark Pool – the mammoth debut full-length from Melbourne outfit Thornhill – is certainly greeting an expectant local scene. After the riotous reception to their 2018 EP Butterfly, the five-piece bunkered down to craft their heavily-anticipated follow up. Committed to stretching, moulding and refining their artistry over the last 18 months, Thornhill have emerged with a colourful, refreshing and ultimately breakout heavy effort.

Since emerging in 2016, Thornhill – made up of lead vocalist Jacob Charlton, guitarists Ethan McCann and Matt Van Duppen, bassist Nick Sjogren and drummer Ben Maida – have made a playground of the Australian heavy sphere, earmarking themselves as one of the country's most refreshing and unrelenting emerging acts. Having stretched their touring muscles alongside the likes of Northlane, Architects, Parkway Drive, In Hearts Wake, Beartooth, The Plot In You and Polaris and impressed with releases including their 2018 EP Butterfly and recent single 'Coven', the clever and colourful The Dark Pool promises to be a breakout for Thornhill.

About this track...

Built on unrelenting riffage and sweltering choruses, 'Nurture' is the ultimate showcase of everything Thornhill can do. Thematically, it is an exploration of what idolising someone/something and losing yourself in the middle of that can do.
