Forming in early 2018 in the South East suburbs of Melbourne the band turned weekly jam sessions into their debut release ‘Feels Like’ in March 2018. Followed by the heavier hitting indie rock track ‘Northern Beaches’ in late 2018 and first release of their debut EP ‘Sometimes’ in early 2019. The Velvet Club immediately began gaining momentum from live music fans and triple J Unearthed reaching the Top 20 overall charts on all 3 releases, receiving their first Triple j Unearthed radio play with latest track ‘Sometimes’ whilst also amounting to 75K Overall streams on Spotify.

'Holy Roller' is a slight change of pace compared to the bands earlier releases however gives an indication of where the band is heading while still holding to the original sound of their first three releases.

A big year of new music is ahead for The Velvet Club, with their new single Holy Roller being launched with a show at The Catfish in Melbourne on the 27th July.

About this track...

From the start ‘Holy Roller’ intrigues the listener with an infectious groove with each instrument coming in one at a time and building throughout each section reaching a big chorus of strong guitars, a thumping rhythm section and catchy drawn out vocals. Reminiscent of DMA’s, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Gang of Youths.
