The Rubens - The Best We Got

The Rubens - The Best We Got
The Rubens have had a dream run since forming in early 2011. After their home recorded demo of 'Lay It Down' found its way to #57 on the triple j Hottest 100 poll for 2011, the band went on to sell out their debut national headline tour (including 4 x Northcote Social Club shows & 3 x Good God shows) and sell out their 'Don't Ever Want To Be Found' shows in July (2 x Oxford Art Factory shows & 2 x Corner Hotel). They also proved to be a highlight at this year’s Splendour In The Grass Festival, packing the GW McLennan stage to the brim, despite their earlier time slot.

Currently on a sold-out national tour (including memorable shows at The Forum Theatre in Melbourne and two Metro Theatre shows in Sydney) their dream run continues, with the band’s recently released debut, self-titled album coming in at #1 on the iTunes chart and an impressive #3 on the ARIA Album chart. The band’s video for ‘My Gun’ is also nominated for Best Video at the 2012 ARIA Awards. Not bad for a band that has been together just over a year.

About this track...

The opening track off the band’s highly-acclaimed debut album, The Best We Got combines the band’s signature swaggering bluesy-indie-pop with frontman Sam Margin’s undeniable, soulful-drenched vocals. It follows on from the hit single ‘My Gun’, which was added to high rotation on triple j and community stations.
