The Maggie Darlings - About Your Business

The Maggie Darlings - About Your Business
A collaborative studio project, this is an offering from three established writers. Undeniably, earthily feminine, Fibbins, Connell and Manceau complement each other with songs of death, love, and a hint of humour. Recorded with Colin Wynne at Thirty Mill Studios, during 2016, in between work with their main projects.

Layla Jean Fibbins performs with Sideshow Brides, an outfit that has seen her and sister Rhianna on stage with Dallas Crane, Leah Flanagan and Tim Rogers. They have singles out ahead of their upcoming album.

Mandy Connell has two original albums and, two albums with traditional band Stray Hens. The author of a web series (An Otherwise Quiet Room), the idea for the Maggies was hers, and comes from her deep-seated passion for collaboration with other artists.

Alysia Manceau released album The Longest Winter in 2011 and went on to work with surf rock outfit The Velocettes. Her work is atmospheric and her soundscapes are grim- think Handsome Family meets Cat Power meets Mazzy Star.

The nine tracks they offer here are the result of a slow, organic collaboration. The production work blends the sounds, subtly changing each of their tracks, while highlighting the distinct personality of each voice.
