Answer: Probably a series of OH&S issues, but that’s not important right now.
The Barren Spinsters are a power duo that has been sticking it to traditional band conventions for the past four years. For a band that only has two members they surely pack quite a punch.
Problem: Unreliable bass player.
Solution: Use your feet.
Not having a bass player would most certainly be a disadvantage, right? What will I groove to? Wouldn’t it sound thin and incomplete? Wrong. The keybass is like a baritone foghorn that pierces your skull and vibrates up and down your spine. In comparison, it makes normal bass players seem like flabby meat sacks that stand up the back and look bored… It takes one to know one.
Edgy guitar riffs and relentlessly brutal drumming is woven amongst this low-end keybass to produce a sound so chunky you certainly won’t be sipping it through a straw. If you’re a fan of face melting rock, you’ll be a fan of The Barren Spinsters.
