Tasmanian alternative-electronic duo, Sumner (Chloe Wilson & Jack McLaine) have “developed a keen grasp of brooding, addictive melody” – (Mixdown Magazine). With their blend of detailed electronic production, rich acoustic sounds and honest lyrics, Sumner’s compelling songwriting continues to captivate a growing audience.
Sumner caught the attention of the music world in 2018 releasing their debut single “Pictures” and EP “All That I Am”; with their calming, dexterous production and songs being compared to the likes of Frank Ocean and Lorde. Triple J supported the release with a radio premiere; ‘45 Roses’ was also added to the Triple J Unearthed Podcast and featured in Unearthed Top 5.
Since the release, Sumner were awarded the 2018 Josh Pyke Partnership Grant and selected to showcase at Big Sound and EMC. Recently having supported the acclaimed Vera Blue, Montaigne and performing at Party In the Paddock Festival; Sumner are fast developing their live show which has been described as warm, vulnerable and addictive, leaving audiences wanting more.
