Drawing on musical influences including Kate Bush, CocoRosie, Lamb and Brian Eno, Sparrows combines organic and electronic sounds to stitch together interesting textures. Fueled by material from dreams, eavesdropped conversations and graffiti off public toilet doors, she weaves these ideas into her music’s narrative.
Bells, phones and some very psychedelic vocal stylings all make for a cacophony of sound that really grows on you the more you listen to it.
“I’m obsessed with recording sounds of objects lying around the house and then using these as a foundation for my songs. For this EP I’ve recorded chewing peanuts, bouncing ping-pong balls, staplers, lighters, gargling water and I even attempted to neigh like a horse".
She has performed alongside Sydney artists Moon Holiday and Rainbow Chan in Karen O’s “Stop the Virgens” for Sydney’s Vivid Festival and Oct 2015 she featured on Endorphin’s track “Blow Me a Kiss”, released on Café del Mar’s latest Dreams 8 compilation.
