Kicking off the new year with their signing, Space Boys lined up a fresh effort at a new release through the “Space Boys” EP, having already put out a collection of tracks in 2016 on their SoundCloud. The new direction was a lot less lo fi, more effected with an array of phased and fuzzy sounds with a hardcore intensity, citing influences from Nick Cave to Black Flag to My Bloody Valentine.
Honing their live shows with a bit of cabaret and cacophony, the lads landed well with some garage punk scenes between Newcastle, Sydney, and their Wollongong home turf, cracking out gigs with bands such as The Gooch Palms, Pals, and Raave Tapes.
