I met and fell in love with a beautiful girl called Helen. We got married and lived a beautiful life together. We completed each other in every way. Life was perfect.
Tragically, Helen was diagnosed with cancer and whilst she put up a brave fight, she sadly passed away.
I later started having sessions with a grief counsellor. It was suggested that as I was a musician, maybe I would find ‘Music Therapy’ beneficial. This basically involved a counsellor (Lisa) visiting me every few weeks and we would talk and play our guitars together. I wrote some songs and asked Lisa to sing and we recorded them on her iPad.
The project turned out way better than expected. I decided to put them on a CD and pass them out to various friends. The response was very positive.
This is a one-off project. We are not a new band. Lisa and I have now gone our separate ways. Her task complete, she is now out helping others with her beautiful soothing voice.
Me, I just want these songs to be heard, and by doing so, keeping Helen’s memory alive.
About this track...
This song explores how people can be living perfect lives oblivious to how it can all suddenly change. It is about how someone that is so loved by many can suddenly be so unlucky.
