Slim Jeffries are a cocktail of self-critique, 90s pop culture and punchy riffs grinding a path through the clamour of Australia’s underground heavy rock scene.
Despite recording, producing and mastering all of their music at drummer Andre Ricardo’s West Footscray home, Slim Jeffries sound anything but DIY. The music contains complexity that resists the trappings of the low-fi, low-brow rock zeitgeist. This music isn’t a homage to bongs, durries and shoeys, it’s an expression of what the band call ‘Cuddlepunk’ - a commitment to expressing anxiety, frustration and self-doubt in a way that is supportive, inclusive and healing.
The band’s scintillating live performances and unapologetic approach to songwriting has built them a dedicated support base in all corners of the country and led to slots at Party In The Paddock and St Kilda Fest. This momentum has translated into the digital sphere with their 2019 EP ‘Loose Change’ receiving solid circulation on Triple J as well as leading UK independent station Amazing Radio.
To those who grew up on playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, sneaking into the Big Day Out and burning Rage Against The Machine CD’s the energy of this band is simply undeniable.

About this track...
This song is about knowing you need to make a change but still not doing it. Think of that morning that you work up and swore you'd quit drinking, the 50th time you ordered coffee with a disposable cup or simply saying yes too often to too many people.
