After transitioning from POW Negro in 2018, their sound has taken on a new direction. The 5 piece deliver experimental, electronically influenced, drum driven tracks with thoughtful and often aggressive bars and glitchy sax lines. Having shared stages with the likes of Blackalicious, Remi, Sampa The Great, as well as having collaborated with imbi the girl on their track ‘i used to’, SUPEREGO is ready to introduce their unique blend of sounds and influences.

Brought together through their love of hip-hop production and unique live music, SUPEREGO have quickly gained a reputation around Australia for their energetic and enigmatic live show. SUPEREGO speak to the black experience in a predominantly white Australia, as well as the unique social and individual challenges we face in the modern world. SUPEREGO draw upon an array of influences from the US underground hip-hop scene, to UK experimental pop.

About this track...

'Caller ID speaks to the inner turmoil we face when dealing with feelings of inadequacy, helplessness and self loathing; the results of the dichotomy between the masks we wear, so as not to burden those around us, and our own internal grief.' - SUPEREGO
