STAV. - Weakening, Awakening

STAV. - Weakening, Awakening
Soulful and honest, multilingual singer-songwriter STAV. (@soundofstav) continues her story of migration, one that began long before her conception. She has Iraqi-Polish roots, was born in Israel and mostly grew up in Australia. Soaring melodies and bursts of rhythmic fire, she was awarded the 2018 Folk Alliance Australia 'Young Artist of the Year' at the National Folk Festival (Canberra). An expressive voice and a natural affinity for guitar, live performance brings this songwriter's introspection, playfulness and raw passion to life. She released her debut album 'The Horizon Line' (2016) with an East-Coast tour from Melbourne to the Bello Winter Music Festival and overseas shows in Barcelona and France. It is a bold and heartfelt coming-of-age album. Her new single, 'Weakening, Awakening', premiered on Triple J radio, features English and Hebrew lyrics and is part of the 5-series music documentary 'The Chromatic Memory' by Timber Music Box. She will be attending the Folk Alliance International Conference in Montréal, Canada in February 2019. Together with Isaac Gunnoo on double bass (Lucy Wise, The Bean Project) and other special guests, this emerging songwriter is not to be missed. "STAV. definitely stands out from the crowd"- Multicultural Arts Victoria
