Melbourne-based experimental electronic duo friendships have released their first audio-visual cut 'The Roof' from their forthcoming debut album, Nullarbor 1988-1989, out 30th September via Dot Dash / Remote Control Records.
'The Roof' is a stark reflection upon Misha Grace's fall from a New York City rooftop at CMJ last year. Together with Nic Brown, the experience gave way for 'The Roof'. An enveloping piece, building upon visceral monologue and brooding imagery, reaching Misha's fall to almost-death at multi-sensory climax.

Big Smoke share their first single 'Best Of You' from their forthcoming debut album 'Time Is Golden' out October 28 via Barely Dressed / Remote Control.
'Best Of You' exemplifies everything that was great about Big Smoke, Adrian’s extraordinary voice soaring above the astounding musicianship of the band. It’s the type of rock ‘n’ roll music that sounds instantly classic, like you’ve known these songs all your life.

friendships - Move (Fast) ft. Yaw Faso & Unsoundbwoy     Electronic, Drum 'n' Bass / Jungle, Industrial, Dance 28/09/2016
Melbourne's chaotic Audio/Visual two piece friendships release 'Move (Fast)' ft. Yaw Faso & Unsoundbwoy from forthcoming debut album, Nullarbor 1988-1989, out 30th September via Dot Dash / Remote Control.
'Move (Fast)' is a high tension heater, featuring the rapid-fire otherworldly vocals of Yaw Faso and Unsoundbwoy. Upon close listening, the track harbours a looming synth line which echoes that of 'When I Feel Like Killing, I Murder,' revealing a sense of cogency amongst the seemingly chaotic Nullarbor 1989-1989.

Big Smoke - Wrong     Rock, Alternative Country 21/10/2016
Big Smoke share their second single 'Wrong', taken from the upcoming debut album 'Time Is Golden' available for pre-order now, out October 28th via Barely Dressed / Remote Control.
'Wrong' is a tune that, as a band, they spent ages trying to get right. They had big dreams for it on the record, to bring it out of the realm of standard pop-rock and get to its emotional depth.

Lost Animal - Too Late To Die Young     Electronic, Funk, RnB 21/10/2016
Lost Animal has released his new single 'Too Late To Die Young' taken from his upcoming album, You Yang, out Friday 21st October 2016 via Dot Dash / Remote Control.
'Too Late To Die Young' is the second single from You Yang. There’s a scuzzy, down-in-the-gutter vibe (in that Nick Cave kind of way) to the new album, with a distinct dub influence this time around. Brooklyn Vegan premiered it explaining you can especially hear that in this track.

MUSIC DIRECTOR PICK: Aeron Clark, Edge Radio, Hobart (TAS)

Big Smoke - Honey, I     Rock, Alternative Country 09/11/2016
Big Smoke's highly anticipated debut album Time Is Golden is out now via Barely Dressed / Remote Control.
'Honey, I' is the last track on Big Smoke's highly anticipated debut album Time Is Golden. The album, which was completed after singer and songwriter Adrian Slattery passed away, is an astounding and virtuosic document of a songwriter and a band at the height of their respective powers.

After touring across Australia this month, Velociraptor have released a new single to soundtrack your summer. 'Hunk With A Hunch' is out now via Dot Dash / Remote Control Records.

Methyl Ethel - Ubu     Pop, Rock, Psychedelic 26/01/2017
Methyl Ethel have shared 'Ubu', the new single taken from their upcoming album, Everything Is Forgotten out Friday 3rd March via Dot Dash / Remote Control Records.
Following ‘No. 28’ is ‘Ubu’, a frenetic pop song inspired by Alfred Jarre’s surrealist play Ubu Roi. A self-portrait of self-flagellation and guilt. Its companion video, directed by Paxi, takes some of its absurdist cues from Jarre.

Methyl Ethel - L’Heure des Sorcières     Pop, Rock, Psychedelic 02/03/2017
Methyl Ethel have shared 'L’Heure des Sorcières', the new single taken from their upcoming album, Everything Is Forgotten out Friday 3rd March via Dot Dash / Remote Control Records.
‘L’Heure des Sorcières’, meaning ‘The Witches' Hour’ in French, the track demonstrates a side of the band that is dark and fantastical, Webb's filtered vocal descending low into the mix to erupt soaring over a surging, foreboding arrangement. It's an arrangement that heralds a band transformed.

Brisbane trio Good Boy release new single 'Braap', out now via Barely Dressed Records / Remote Control.
Good Boy’s 'Braap' is a burst of garage rock energy which recalls the best of Cloud Nothings, Parquet Courts and Australia’s influential Eddy Current Suppression Ring, it's is a rollicking hit out for one of the most exciting punk rock bands in the country. Vital, fun and loud.

Jarrow - Cody     Rock, Psychedelic, Punk, Pop 10/03/2017
20-year-old producer Jarrow releases new single 'Cody', out now via Barely Dressed Records / Remote Control.
Jarrow shot onto the Australian scene last year with an accomplished record of audacious production and psychedelic garage pop. Jarrow’s new track 'Cody' takes that sound to a new level. Two minutes of millennial poetry set to a punk rock guitar riff that won’t quit, and its infectious as hell.

Jess Locke - Better/Bitter     Rock, Pop 13/04/2017
Jess Locke has shared a new single 'Better/Bitter,' taken from an album due for release later this year via Pool House Records / Remote Control.
'Better/Bitter' is a perfect encapsulation of Locke's captivating ability to match dreamy guitar pop with a lyricism cut with stark commentary. It's a sound and an unabashed candidness that has developed through the long time Jess has performed in unconventional spaces: water parks, cemeteries, roundabouts, bookshops and back porches.

Lawrie says of 'Swimming In The Rain', "I wrote a song about a summer of love, a loss of innocence, and the dance of lustful confusion between two friends. It reminded me a lot of 1988's classic Hollywood romp, Computer Beach Party."

Banoffee - Ripe     Electronic, Pop 24/06/2017
Banoffee returns with 'Ripe', the first single to be released in almost two years, out now via Dot Dash / Remote Control Records.
'Ripe' bounces around a manipulated vocal sample, a grating bassline scratch and infectious drops. It's intended to conjure the abrasiveness of a situation Banoffee often found herself in – feeling exploited in the music industry. Intentionally grubby, it's also a mirror of the project's “dirty, crass personality.”
