Rees Lucia - Moving Arms

Rees Lucia - Moving Arms
In a world that seems to be spinning faster and fast, with shorter attention spans, sleepless technology obsessions, and a social media culture that’s pushing us to be more, to be bolder, bigger, to be relevant, to be connected, while hurtling us further into isolation and insecurity, Rees Lucia’s music offers a deflation of the chatter, a quieting of the noise. Her poetry cuts through to timeless themes rooted in humanity and reality, with melodies that connect you through universal emotions with those around you, by pulling you back into connecting with your self.

Rees Lucia emerged on the Sydney music scene in 2018 with her enchanting debut EP, ‘In/Congruence’, recorded with Mark Myers (The Middle East). The release earned her a sold-out launch show, radio play on Triple J and community stations in Australia and NZ, the lead single was a finalist in the Frankie Magazine Good Stuff Awards, and she has since been enchanting her audiences with her carefully curated band of backup vocalists, guitars and saxophone.

Her latest release, ‘Moving Arms’, recorded with Ryan Brennan (Phantastic Ferniture), will get stuck in your mind for days with its euphoric groove and soaring harmonies!

About this track...

‘Moving Arms’ is a mesmerising tribute to dizzy feelings of euphoria and paranoia, exploring highs and lows in relationships, and reminds us that even the most strong-willed people in our lives struggle with mental health. Rees wrote all guitar, synth, vocal parts, the bassline riff, and worked with her drummer, bass, sax players to actualise the sounds she was hearing.
