Oscar Galt & The Eventual Somethings - All Hail The Worm

Oscar Galt & The Eventual Somethings - All Hail The Worm
Barbed trips and warped takes on 90s inspired slacker-grunge is what you can expect from Melbourne four-piece Oscar Galt and The Eventual Somethings. Residing in a Thornbury share house appropriately dubbed The Pile, Oscar Galt has penned and primed his unhinged brand of brooding noise-rock and pulled together his nascent group of Eventual Somethings (Hollie Joyce, Alexander Biggs and Michael Hood.)

What results is a disarrayed collection of colliding influences culminating in the wiriest of guitars taking the piss out of pummeling drums and vocals that are as battered as they are satirical. As a front-man and lyricist, Galt unassumingly presents himself as a pseudo-pragmatic commentator on dependence and exhaust.

Oscar Galt and The Eventual Somethings are currently working towards the release of the second instalment of a set of twin EP's. The follow up to November's Play Things, Drift Away , is set to drop this April on Melbourne based independent record label Bad Health. Produced and mixed by Shane O'Mara (Tim Rogers, Lisa Miller) in his Yarraville studio 'Yikesville,' the twin EPs see the band move into territory that's more honest and wry than their past endeavours but just as stuck in the gutter.

About this track...

A gut punching dive into a 90s inspired scuzz oblivion is Oscar Galt & The Eventual Something's latest offering 'All Hail The Worm.' It's a wirey piece of spiralling slacker-grunge that serves as an anthem for the existentially desolate.
