Claire Price ‐Vox and Sean Francis ‐Sequencing/Guitars began as The Bleeding Hearts, a Motown band complete with 5‐piece brass line-up. The band reproduced Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound around Sydney’s indie clubs.
As the two began to self-‐produce, the brass seemed suddenly a false economy. Pouring over classic records - bower birds, picking shiny bits and pieces from their favourite songs - a new sound began to emerge.
In 2013 they produced their first studio recording, the Double A-‐Side release - Fire Song/No Means Yes. It’s likely you would never have heard either track, if it weren’t for the intervention of ARIA Award winning mixer/producer Scott Horscroft, who helped the two with final mixing.
'Sydney Indie-‐rock New Brutalists stir up some entirely unwholesome emotions with their brand of bracing snarling surf rock meets sugary sweet double claps. Think The Cramps colliding with the Beach Boys with a she-‐devil sex kitten on vocals.'
