Originally a drummer, Patison’s musical template could not be more apt for the task. “My favourite band’s Queen and I love how in every one of their albums the only thing that gives them continuity is their unique sound. I’ve always wanted an element like that in my music.
In My Sister’s Gramophone he’s certainly achieved that. It’s very much the result of finding likeminded musicians who could help create the soundscape within which Patison’s songs could live and breath.
Patison met keyboard player Sean Henderson several years ago and while their musical tastes might be different, they quickly found they shared enough in the way they look at life to feel they needed to work together.
Through Henderson’s connections, guitarist Luke Greenhalgh and multi-instrumentalist bass player Barnaby Briggs came on board and over some ten months the four rehearsed with producer and Churchill Fellowship recipient Dax Liniere of Puzzle Factory Sound Studios to arrange and record Brad’s tunes.
