Grace Turner, a singer songwriter from Newcastle is renown for her emotionally-driven indie-folk songs, which are intensely personal.
Propelled by beating drums and strumming guitar, ‘Dead or Alive’ is a mixture of folk, rock and alt-country, paired with the strong yet sweet vocals from Turner. Inspired by a conversation with a concerned friend in a dark time, “The lyrics in the chorus are literally transcribed from our conversation."

Emily Wurramara - Lady Blue     Folk, Indigenous 01/06/2018
Emily Wurrumarra is a proud Indigenous performer from Groote Eylandt, NT. Emily won the Indigenous Queensland Music Award in May for her track Ngarrikwujeyinama, the first single lifted from 'Milyakburra'.
Lady Blue is what my Grandmother called the sea. The sea is majestic, graceful, mysterious and so alluring. It takes me back to spending time with my family on Groote and Bickerton camping and fishing and diving into the sea. I was thinking 'ancient mermaid' when I wrote Lady Blue.

DIY-till-you-die FRITZ is one of Newcastle's most promising young acts, blowing up with her bubby deam-pop style and her quirky on stage persona.
The song is about feeling obliged to go to social events in high school. Almost every time FRITZ would’ve rather been at home. It’s about how over dramatic your emotions can be in high school, that when one bad thing happens you feel like its the end of the world.

Time For Dreams is Melbourne based duo Tom Carlyon (Standish/Carlyon, The Devastations) on guitar and beats and Amanda Roff (Harmony) on vocals and bass.
You've Got A Friend (named as a homage to Carole King) was written during a time of depression, loneliness and general disillusionment with the human race. A tiny tale of kindness and friendship in a world of violence and apathy.

'Essendon 1986' is an old song revisited and accelerated. The song's about the drudgery lumped upon the working class in order to maintain. It's about the little things people do in order to feel like they’re not churning the butter, often to feel like they’re not where they really are.
