Woodlock - Something Broke That Day     Folk, Pop 08/11/2016
Kiwi brothers Zech and Eze Walters on guitar and vocals, and their mate Bowen Purcell on percussion form Woodlock, an alternative folk pop trio based out of Melbourne.
On a recent trip to perform in China, Eze was inspired by a comic book he was reading that involved a love triangle and subsequent murder. Co-written, produced and mixed again by Lindsey Jackson, the single is a massive leap away from their usual uplifting songs.

Pop rock four-piece Pirra are gearing up to release debut album Animal Kingdom. Heavy with upbeat tempos, brooding synths and overdriven riffs that sit beneath a psychedelic atmosphere.
‘All For Ya’ begins with a gloomy synth cloud that hovers over a gradually building upbeat groove. A tight-sounding riff joins in, accompanied by a sparkling atmosphere, which inhales for a moment of silence before releasing into the silken vocals of frontwoman Jessica Beck.

Darcy Fox’s music is a blend of folky-pop with hints of country. A songwriter at heart, Darcy uses loop pedals to create a big and vibrant sound.
‘Hurricane’ is a song about owning up to your mistakes and vowing to do better. Darcy created unique and interesting sounds in the recording of the track using coins and a petrol pump. Much of the song is made up of loops, as that is how it is created live.
