Wing Defence - Weapons     Punk, Pop, Rock 10/04/2020
Indie outfit Wing Defence hit the court hard in their breakout singles, unleashing banger after banger, scoring international radio play and touring nationally.
Weapons was written by three of us from the Wingos gang... Benny, Skiz and Paigy girl. It’s a collaboration of all of our thoughts and experiences on trying to navigate through a feeling of alienation. We’ve all been there at some point in our lives so it was a great writing session to bond over when we first started WD.

Wing Defence - Cuts     Rock, Pop, Punk, Garage 23/08/2019
Describing their sound as pop punk, the duo's references span from No Doubt to CERES and Michelle Branch. They tell stories and face hard hitting themes with catchy anthems.
Cuts explores Skye’s experience with her two week stint on the dating app Tinder and emphatically includes the on-going experience of her friends who have also dabbled with the fickle and rather disappointing outcomes

Wanderers - Make It On My Own     Soul, R&B, Rock, Pop 13/09/2019
Genre-defying Wanderers have a trademark symphony of moods - the shredding of guitar riffs, dreamy harmonies, funky bass and a general feeling of nostalgia.
Recorded with the shaking of asses in mind, ‘Make It On My Own’ is about re-entering life after losing someone who has become your crutch and how you need to remind yourself that you'll be fine. The chorus becomes a mantra to dispel the anxieties displayed in the versus’ - conquering your doubts and telling yourself, you can do it!

Tom West - Stuck On Repeat     Folk, Indie 17/01/2020
Tom West plays music that traverses the rocky and undulating ground between simple, whimsical folk tunes and grand and moody soundscapes.
A gentle exploration addressing the strong feelings of unfulfillment, helplessness and a kind of muted grief about the never-ending parade of bad news from both near and far. It feels like we’re stuck repeating this cycle and realistically powerless to change it.

Tom West - King Cambyses     Folk, Roots, Rock, Acoustic 18/08/2018
Tom West is an Australian singer-songwriter performing music that traverses the rocky and undulating ground between simple, whimsical folk tunes and grand and moody soundscapes.
This song reflects on the way that our experience of memory and hindsight affects our experience and understanding of the present.
The idea came when I was listening to a history podcast that discussed the story of when, supposedly, King Cambyses, Emperor of the ancient Persian Empire directed an army into the Egyptian desert that disappeared in a sandstorm.

Tom West - Emiko     Folk 20/09/2019
Tom West plays music that traverses the rocky and undulating ground between simple, whimsical folk tunes and grand and moody soundscapes.
A simple love song at it's core, Emiko probes deeper in to the theme of love and the idea that it doesn’t always neatly align with our expectations. We try to navigate this experience as best we can but sometimes, things can fall down and feel like we’re putting back pieces in places where they just don’t seem fit anymore.

MANE - Save Yourself     Pop, Rock 13/10/2018
With a haunting and high energy live set, MANE’s explosive indie pop is something that has to be seen to be fully believed.
Written while witnessing someone make the same mistakes repeatedly, becoming really expectant of the people around them to pick up the mess. You don't want to enable them but you also don't want them to feel abandoned. When it becomes detrimental to your wellbeing the solution becomes pretty obvious though.

MANE - Chasing Butterflies     Pop, Electronic, Atmospheric 21/03/2018
Hailing from Adelaide, MANE’s explosive indie pop has the unique ability to have you in awe of her energy while simultaneously singing along to the saddest of songs.
“Chasing Butterflies is about relentlessly searching for that feeling of excitement in something or someone over and over again, it’s about loving to love but getting bored really quickly, it’s about self-evaluating your behaviour and pain but wondering whether or not you’ll do anything about it to help yourself.
