Made up of five dance-friendly post-punk songs, the EP opener and first single "Spewcastle" invokes the likes of New Order beaten into submission by Australian garage punk. The track tells the story of being sick-as-a-dog, with sick-as-a-dog friends.
Life After Football’s sound is characterised by a constant, and often tense struggle between the steady, dependable rhythm section and haphazard guitar work. Vocalist, D. Halliday provides a dreary narrative of stories about coming and going, coupled with romantic notions of home.
