In the first two years, Letargik started out as an acoustic project. In 2014, Muhammad started learning electronic music production and released two original songs "Commute" and "Alone". This year marked the transformation of Letargik's sound into a more synth-driven indie pop.
In 2015, Letargik released "XXV EP", which incorporated elements of dark-techno, synthwave and post-rock. A year after this release, Letargik released several synthwave bootlegs from various artists, such as Bring Me the Horizon, Chromatics and Chicane. These releases helped Letargik gained attention in the synthwave community.
In early 2017, Letargik released a new single called "Tangerine". In June 2017, Letargik released "Stars on the Screen". Parachute Music, an acclaimed Auckland-based music blog, positively appraised the song, saying '...Letargik manages to imagine what a goth M83 would sound like. His world-weary voice, soaked in reverb recalls a poetic tale of ambition and heartbreak over beautifully strident middle-of-the-night roadtrip beats.'
