Laurel And The Painkillers - Don't Kick Me When I'm Down
Laurel and the Painkillers debut album “Songs From Isobel” was inspired by Laurel’s daughter Isobel. After a hiatus from music Laurel was drawn back to songwriting after Isobel passed away.
The lyrics embody themes of grief, courage, acceptance and hope. They are intended to bring comfort and strength to people struggling with grief. The band has a bluesy-rock style and a vision to deliver outstanding, original songs.

About this track...

This song is about accepting grief, coping with the black dog (depression) and ultimately gaining the strength to rise up and live again - "It won't be long now, I'm getting strong now – rising. Take your time yeah, I'm gonna be fine yeah, now I know I don't have to let go and I won't ever let her go".
