Laura Imbruglia - The Creeps

Laura Imbruglia - The Creeps
Australian songwriter Laura Imbruglia has been releasing records since the early noughties with album number three released back in 2013, and has played almost every corner of Australia and several pockets of Europe.

Although Laura has been quiet on the music front for the past 5 years (momentarily distracted by the creation of her beloved arts web series “Amateur Hour”), she’s finally back in the land of music.

The new songs offer a window into Laura’s listening habits of the past few years, with Cocteau Twins, Steely Dan, Teenage Fanclub, and Dictators among others creeping into her musical influences.

After re-introducing the world to her music via recent singles "Tricks" and "Diptych" (both accompanied by highly entertaining music videos), Laura Imbruglia returns with AC/DC-esque new track, “The Creeps”.

Just when you think you've wrapped your head around Laura's newest sound, she'll throw a curveball. "The Creeps" is the heaviest song of her new material and a brilliant showcase of new band members - lead guitarist Alex MacRae (Sons of Rico), bass & backing vocalist Kelly Dingeldei (Loobs) and drummer James Trewenack (Glass Diamonds).

The forthcoming album “Scared Of You” (produced by Nick Huggins) is due for release in March 2019.

About this track...

The Creeps is a simple song about being irritated that an ex-lover can still rattle you when you see them, no matter how many years have passed or how much water is under the bridge. An AC/DC channeling, full-blown pub rock banger complete with bellowing wails, power chords and room for some possible crowd-fueled, fist-pumping backing chants.
