L.A. Mood - Morphine

L.A. Mood - Morphine
L.A. Mood has a new EP out May 10th. "Breakfast At Sassy's" is the second release from the Melbourne multi-instrumentalist and producer, and is a 'lil slice that's warm and familiar. It draws from rock moments through the decades, from the swinging 60's, psychedelic 70's and indie-pop of the 00's.

L.A. Mood is the solo project of Dave Mudie, Courtney Barnett's full-time drummer. He’s played in upwards of 40 other bands and counting - for him, touring down-time means burying into studio projects and playing local gigs. Most recently he played drums on Jess Ribeiro's album "Love Hate", recorded Jade Imagine's debut "Stay Awake", and played bass on Gumboot and Baby Blue releases.

As per 2017's debut EP Crushing Highs & Amazing Lows, friends from Melbourne's music scene have been enlisted into the recording sessions - James Fleming (Gumboot), Bob Harrow (Immigrant Union), Jess Ribeiro, Bones Sloane (Courtney Barnett), Gus Rigby (Big Scary), and Fabian Hunter (China Beach); and was engineered by Collin Hegna of the Brian Jonestown Massacre in Portland.

He’s launching the EP May 10th at Merri Creek Tavern, with support from Hachiku.

About this track...

A Kebin Morby-cum-Beatles inspired track. Paul Dillon (Sparklehorse, Mercury Rev) & Collin Hegna (Brian Jonestown Massacre) are both playing bass on this, swapping half-way through causing a change in groove at the bridge. It features a few guests with Bones Sloane, Bob Harrow and Jess Ribeiro singing harms, and Gus Rigby (Big Scary) on a roaring sax solo.
