Kerbside Collection - Traffic

Kerbside Collection - Traffic
All instrumental jazz funk and dusty rare groove ensemble from the quiet inner suburbs of Brisbane/QLD. The sound harks back to late 60’s early 70’s Californian West Coast jazz funk music of artists such as Wes Montgomery, George Benson, Chico Hamilton, Joe Sample and The Crusaders, whilst tipping its hat to today’s contemporaries keeping the ‘feel’ alive (Soulive, Bobby Hughes, James Taylor, Eddie Roberts & the New Mastersounds, Cookin on 3 Burners, Mattson 2, Frootful, Stance Brothers etc).

Their 3rd album 'smoke signals' released 30th November continues in a down home, instrumental approach, but this time introducing newer flavours into their spectrum of warm, analogue, dusty grooves from more frequent fender-rhodes electric jazz elements, to New Orleans sprinklings alongside their 60’s inspired West Coast style.
Smoke Signals extends the wilder tones, textures and ‘library’ sounds of extra instrumentation found on their last output ‘Trash or Treasure’, whilst introducing hints of fusion and cinematic analogue electrics colours into the mix, bringing things into slightly early 70s territory. A full spectrum of handmade jazz funk, reggae, soul, library and gritty rare grooves.

"funk & timeless grooves...” (Phil - Wicked Jazz Sounds/NL)

“Cajun Jollof is nice!...funky reggae!” (Baz - Spasibo Records/RU)
