Kate Cook - Hit the Highway

Kate Cook - Hit the Highway
One of five children in her family, Kate and her siblings grew up performing for their parents on their five-acre property in Pine Mountain. Developing a love of the land, Kate learnt to play the guitar from her beloved Mother and has many memories of sitting around the campfire with the family singing country music songs.
When she was 13 the family moved to Lowood, near Ipswich in Queensland and at 16, following the passing of her Mum, Kate took up employment on a muster farm in
Queensland’s west, where much of the inspiration for her writing has come from.
