Collarbone is a synth-drenched psych-folk anthem for anyone who can't be alone. This has taken the multi instrumentalist in a brave new direction, deciding not to play safe with this textured and dynamic new single.
Johnson first came to national attention when she was one of the winners of the Triple J Unearthed Songwriting comp, receiving a masterclass from Gotye and Adalita. She has supported a slew of iconic Australian artists including Courtney Barnett, Jen Cloher, Tim Rogers, Abbe May, and played venues of every size from cosy lounge rooms to Groovin the Moo.
"This is my most monumental song so far. I spent part of my recent life trying to avoid loneliness, throwing my heart against the wall over and over in the process. Collarbone is about feeling f*cked up as well as defiantly ok about it. I’m only human, after all. I've never written a song so direct, so cruel and so forgiving of myself all at once. Plus, it's my first song with a danceable beat!" Julia Johnson
