Catherine is a smokey chanteuse and multi-instrumentalist. She has gathered some of Australia's finest classical, jazz and pop musicians to embellish her dark, lushly orchestrated songs of love and loss.
Like Jimmy Webb meets Nick Drake. An epic orchestration harking back to the 60's, yet an intimate reflection on the sadness we feel at the end of time together. We try to move on, but are held tight in the grip of memory.

Not quite jazz club, not quite night club. The Rookies are a jazz band designed for the dance-floor. The energy is carried by the bands long standing musical brotherhood.
The first single release from The Rookies 'Play Jazz'. Milestones is a rhythmic exploration of the Miles Davis classic. Utilising metric modulation the melody shifts tempo before giving way to three distinct, unique, soaring and ebullient solos by pianist Joel Trigg, saxophonist Greg Sher and drummer Chris Cameron.

Aaron McCoullough - Five Islands     Jazz, Instrumental 06/04/2018
Aaron McCoullough is a drummer/composer/educator based in Melbourne, Australia. His original music can be heard on his two releases: 'Portrait of Thoughts' (released 2013), and 'Provenience' (released 2018).
‘Provenience’ is embedded in the reflection, and rediscovery regarding specific localities of the Illawarra region in New South Wales. These works represent personal responses to the region with consideration to ‘time’ and ‘place’. The result is music that is representative of my recollections growing up in the region.

Sydney "post-everything improv" quintet return with a teaser EP via Temporary Residence Ltd. Tangents meld electronic production, experimental rock and free improvisation to create their unique sound.
Starting from a pulse that the group begins to hover around, there is a propulsion to 'Stents' despite the drums off kilter stutters. The story unfolds as sounds come from all angles, before the drums are overtaken by an intense electronic break and the climax collapses.

Melbourne artist Lee Hannah releases their visual album, Infinitely - a stunningly slow-moving 20 minute short film / album depicting the intricate natural and unnatural ecology of Australia’s mallee district.
Infinitely is the title track from the visual album. An improvised piece influenced by artists like Mick Turner and The Necks.

The tracks on this album are an eclectic mix of contemporary jazz allowing the listener to follow the band’s journey through the use of different styles and textures which will appeal to jazz lovers of all ages. Digital Analogue gives a nod to European jazz and contemporary music.
