Irrunytju Band - Kalkanya Puli

Irrunytju Band - Kalkanya Puli
Irrunytju Band are an exciting desert powerhouse emerging from a small community by the name of Wingellina, a Ngaanyatjarra community tucked inside the Western Australia border 10 kms from the tri state border of WA, NT and SA.

In a land where Indigenous culture and language remain strong, Irrunytju Band tell powerful and important stories through their music. Singing in Pitjantjatjarra their songs convey messages of country, people and loved ones, social issues and tales from the road.

Already a household name throughout the Ngaanyatjarra Lands, Irrunytju Band are now undertaking their 2012 album release ‘Titji Kutju’ (One Kid); an exciting journey highlighting the rich diversity and talent in songwriting and musicianship that underpins the core of this musical collective. ‘Titji Kutju’ will cement the bands role as an important voice for the lands and take their music out to a wider audience.
