She hit the ground running in 2017 with a spate of rural shows and festivals gaining notoriety for her punchy vocal style and energetic performances.
Inspired by artists such as Brookes and Dunn, Chris Stapleton and Aerosmith Ingrid Mae’s vocals have been compared to the likes of Melissa Etheridge and Jennifer Nettles.
In 2018, her single, As the Crow Flies a top 5 finalist for “single of the year”, Indie Country Music Australia 2018 awards.
She anticipates the release her first truly country album Holy Smoke in March 2019. Set somewhere in a world where Dolly Parton meets Melissa Etheridge this record traverses a mixed landscape of heart-felt ballads, western crooners and country anthems.
“I’m a live performer at heart”, says Ingrid “I love the energy and connection you build with a small crowd.” This energy certainly comes through in Holy Smoke & with good reason. Even before stepping foot in the studio these songs were put through the live audience wringer!
