Amrap's AirIt | Australian Music Radio Airplay Project :: Rock :: Have/Hold - Lighthousekeeping

Have/Hold - Lighthousekeeping

Have/Hold - Lighthousekeeping
Since forming in 2013, Have/Hold has released a 7”, an EP (Calm Your Blood) and 2015’s debut full length album King Salt. These releases were terse, poignant, bombastic, and stirringly dynamic. They saw the band exploring lyrical themes for loss, longing, leaving and learning within the seemingly restrictive rubric of guitar based rock music.

Over the course of these halcyon years Have/Hold has played a multitude of shows including several national tours both under their own banner and in support of Australian alternative rock acts such as We Lost The Sea, Safe Hands and Sail On! Sail On!. Touring King Salt saw the band leave for the US on a run of shows that included an appearance at The FEST alongside bands like Pianos Become The Teeth, Title Fight and The Hotelier. With sold out shows back home supporting the likes of La Dispute, Balance And Composure, and Say Anything, the band took time out to reassess their focus and a new creative machine kicked into gear.

Now, in 2018 Have/Hold have plans for a huge year of single releases, tours, videos, and finally the release of album #2.

About this track...

Recorded/mixed in Melbourne by Greg Rietwyk (Press Club, Neighbourhood Youth, The Pretty Littles) at Woodstock Studios and The Aviary, and mastered by Alan Douches (Swans, Frightened Rabbit, Converge) at West West Side Studios, New York; LIGHTHOUSEKEEPING is in parts cacophonous and anthemic, but at other moments gentle and soothing.
