Neighbourhood Youth - Stay Safe     Rock 19/07/2018
Neighbourhood Youth emerged from 2017 as one of Melbourne's most talked about live bands.
Bassist and lyricist, Sam Nathan, describes the nature of the song as "finding peace with the realisation that some things are completely beyond your control", with that initial frustration perfectly executed by singer John Philip’s growling baritone.

Charlie Collins - Wish You Were Here     Folk, Rock 02/08/2018
Having played in various bands both in Australia and overseas, Collins is now returning to her roots of authentic songwriting.
Taking influence from contemporaries such as Soccer Mommy, Snail Mail and The War On Drugs, the track quietly surfaced online two weeks ago and has already received copious amounts of love on Triple J Unearthed, with Triple J's Bridget Hustwaite writing “What a darn dream, can’t wait to hear more.”

Jaguar Jonze - You Got Left Behind     Rock, Folk, Country, Pop 16/08/2018
An enigmaticyet vulnerable songwriter, Jaguar Jonze delivers defiant ferocity through smoky vocals that shift between fragile and forceful and a mature musicality that provides sweetness through dissonance.

Mastered by Steve Fallone of Sterling Sound in US

Jaguar Jonze - You Got Left Behind     Rock, Pop 22/08/2018
Jaguar Jonze crafts songs of melancholic beauty woven with gun slinging guitar lines and a strikingly rich, yet intimate voice.
“'You Got Left Behind' is about a few things - namely growing up and seeing people have a resistance to do so. With that came the torment of watching loved ones fall into a cycle of self-victimisation, self-harm and self-medication. I wrote the song around the time I was drawing a particular piece for my artistic project, Spectator Jonze.”

Nice Biscuit - Digital Mountain Sparrow     Pop, Rock 22/08/2018
Electrifying, cinematic and delivered with intergalactic gusto - Nice Biscuit are the storm that breaks the heat of a summer’s day.
Brisbane psych-garage outfit, Nice biscuit have returned with their latest single and video, Digital Mountain Sparrow, a laid back offering of western and surf rock inspired psychedelia. Digital Mountain Sparrow sees the sextet explore a more relaxed sound than on previous releases and showcases their penchant for pushing their music into new territory.

Sloan Peterson - Our Love     Pop, Rock 24/08/2018
From the romantic strums of 50s guitar pop, to the gutsy and relentless energy of contemporary garage rock, Sloan Peterson ticks all the boxes.
’Our Love’ was inspired by somebody who had a conflicting dream about her boyfriend being the devil, and had to break up with him and go back to this religion,”explains Sloan Peterson.“The lyrics I wrote are kind of my interpretation of the a conversation between her and essentially God.”

Batts - Gun     Pop 30/08/2018
BATTS is the project of Melbourne based musician and space enthusiast Tanya Batt. Honing in on her sound in 2017 BATTS creates a blend of dream pop/folk and rock.
Gun is about fictional characters, I wasn't feeling inspired by my life and didn't feel any urge to become self destructive like I had in younger years to create. I loved to write stories as a child and thought I'd start writing fiction stories into songs, and creating the music around it to set the vibe and world around it.

Brayden Sibbald - Float     Electronic, Pop 31/08/2018
The 23-year-old, who has a prodigious ability to create an entire sonic world from his bedroom, is being compared to the likes of D.D. Dumbo.
Float is the title track of the EP as it is most reflective of the central theme of the EP – which is that if you are down you can always get back up, it’s not too late to get help or help yourself no matter how hard things may seem.

Wharves - Mo's Desert Clubhouse     Rock 04/09/2018
WHARVES is an indie rock band based in Lennox Head on the far north coast of NSW Australia.
The music for this track came from our Sapphire Sessions in March 2018. Where stayed in a beautiful house near the beach in Coffs Harbour and jammed for 3 days straight.

The lyrics were inspired by a roadtrip I took in May with the part owner of the Gold Coast arts venue "Mo's Desert Clubhouse".

Death by Denim - Rise     Rock 20/09/2018
Hailing from Perth, the four piece rock formation has been known for their high energy live shows, versatile song writing and tendency to wear outlandish combinations of denim.
Rise is about separation from a lifelong relationship and the overwhelming spectrum of emotion that comes with such events. It was written shortly after attending a Roger Waters concert at Perth arena. The experience inspired us to think about some of the bigger themes in our lives when writing our next work.

Baker's Eddy - Leave It To Me     Rock, Punk 21/09/2018
Having formed in 2009 as an escape from adolescent pressures and career expectations, Bakers Eddy found their sound listening to two and three chorded punk songs.
“It all began when we decided to make the move to Australian shores to pursue our dreams of writing and performing music for a living, a goal far more achievable within Melbourne as opposed to our home town of Wellington, New Zealand.”

Jackie Brown Jr are an indie rock and soul Sydney five piece consisting of lead singer and saxophonist Madeleine Mallis, Rhyan Clapham, Michael J Brady, Gideon Traurig and Ben McDermott.
Best Friend is a bit of an interesting one because it sounds like the happiest song in the world, but really it's an imagined scenario of my best friend dying and my inability to cope with or comprehend it.

First Beige - Vivid     Funk/Soul, Dance 27/09/2018
First Beige are a Brisbane-based 6 Piece that have an eclectic, genre-bending sound that reimagines elements of Disco, Soul and funk fused with creative rhythms.
I have recently been listening to alot of rare 70's disco grooves and a lot of old Brazilian Samba music and I wanted to find out a way to combine the two genres together in a unique fresh way. A big part of both of these genres, and the two tracks Vivid and Images, is the groove section.

Other tracks by First Beige:  Images
Teenage Dads - Sunburnt     Rock, Pop 27/09/2018
With a unique variety of music, Teenage Dads take a modern spin on the psych pop/rock sounds from the 1960’s, noted for their charismatic performances and high energy.
Sunburnt is “about finally moving forward from an unhealthy relationship and feeling really really good about it, like dancing down the street vibes. We wanted to emulate a great feeling of joy through the music".

Eliza and the Delusionals - Jackie     Rock 06/10/2018
Acclaimed indie rock band Eliza & The Delusionals are one of the most exciting groups breaking out of the Australian music scene.
“I wrote this song about coping with loss after my dog passed away,” says vocalist Eliza Klatt. “It was probably the saddest I had ever felt. I wasn’t sure if I’d ever be able to write a song that would do justice to how I was feeling, but it felt really right when I finished writing it".

Atlas Franklin Alexander - Valis     Electronic 11/10/2018
Atlas Franklin Alexander aims both musically and visually to throw us into the ethereal depths of his psyche.
Sonically his imagination of the world is a collage of layered ambient synths and effected vocals that centre around organic beats, whilst aesthetically his clips draw us into his otherworldly visual interpretations of modern life with a Kubrickian slant that is equally as gloomfilled as it is optimistic.

Teischa - Haunt Me     Pop 18/10/2018
Hailing from one of the world's most isolated cities; Western Australia, Teischa spent her youth living in Thailand, leading a nomadic lifestyle which has offered her a truly unique perspective.

Sweater Curse - Mon's Song     Rock 25/10/2018
Unabashed dorks Sweater Curse came together quickly when members Chris, Rei and Monica started captivating Brisbane’s local scene with their charm and evocative, jangly melodies.
“I had a dream that Rei and I were both feeling really sad and confused, so we cut open Rei’s head to see what was going on. I was desperately trying to understand other people in my dream because my close relationships at the time seemed so weird and unreal.” – Monica Sottile, vocals/bass
