Gazey - Society     Pop, Alternative 30/09/2019
Combining affectionate nostalgia for 70s and 80s studio sounds with contemporary song writing sensibilities, Perth art pop prodigies ‘Gazey’ released their debut LP ‘Sole’ through Group Therapy Records in 2019.
‘Society’ is a reflection on sexuality with a bittersweet tone and expressive personal lyricism inspired by the likes of Feist and Jenny Lewis. Taking a production approach incorporating guitar and electronic sounds that nods towards the likes of Vampire Weekend, the song encapsulates Gazey's endearing honesty and love of warbled and fuzzed sounds.

Web Rumors - IOUS     Pop, Chill 23/08/2019
Web Rumors is a new wave pop band from Perth combining filtered synths and 80s style electronic percussion with ambient sax and commanding vocals.
IOUS pays homage to Sade and 80s groove pop more generally with the use of electronic percussion (congas, chimes ), digital synths, and reverb laden saxophone. The song itself is a reflection on a significant relationship in song writer Em Burrows' life and a reflection on the exchange of giving and taking between two people.

Gazey - River     Pop, Electronic 11/07/2019
Progressive lofi art pop from Perth, Western Australia.
Building on their ambitious lofi bedroom production aesthetic. 'River' sees Gazey channeling the likes of New Order with a combination of electronic percussion, fuzz guitar, and a propulsive four to the floor drum beat. Analogue synths drive this Springsteen-esque song with anthemic inclinations. 'River' is the second single from Gazey's debut album Sole which releases in August, 2019.
