His latest album ‘Privé’ was inspired by his fixation with French music and films from the 60’s and 70’s, which to him is the Golden age of music and film. ‘Privé’ is a more direct affair, as a conscious effort was made to focus on that era of French pop, taking inspiration from the likes of Serge Gainsbourg, Jacques Dutronc, Françoise Hardy and French New Wave soundtracks, but re-imagined to suit his peculiar vision of alienation and dislocation from a technologically driven modern world. It was recorded at home in London with frequent musical collaborator and ‘Gentlemen’ band mate Paul Housden.
