For years, Uni students and schoolgirls and boys have hopped on and off the 106 bus as it travelled the main highway (Canning Hwy) from Perth to Fremantle, forging friendships, falling in love and making mortal enemies. Coincidently this is the very same highway that AC/DC aptly named the Highway to Hell, destination The Raffles.
But who could have imagined the outcry when, without ceremony, the service was cancelled.
Thus pissing off enough people to protest and garner media and political attention.
In the words of this infectious tune ‘The 106 doesn’t come any longer, I don’t quite get how you could take me from her’.
