Fieu (pronounced Fee-yu) meaning ‘heat’ or ‘fire’ is the female fronted indie-pop outfit from South East Queensland combining powerful vocals with keyboard synths, ambient electric guitars and energetic drum beats.
After releasing her debut EP in 2014 (recorded at Sydney’s Studios 301), Fieu has topped Triple J unearthed charts, gained national radio play across Triple J, 4ZZZ, ABC and more, been recognized for her writing as a finalist in the 2014 International Songwriting Contest as well as played shows across Australia with her band including as support for artists such as Woodlock, Left, AYLA, and Caitlin Park.
One year on since her first release and she’s been working alongside Perth based producer Joel Quartermain (Meg Mac) to develop a new creative direction to emerge in 2015.
The first single from the pop-songstresses new work, entitled Running, is upbeat yet charmingly dark, incorporating a bright electro-pop approach. The dynamic soundscape brings Fieu’s vibrant voice into focus surrounded by analog synths and layered harmonies.
