Fear Like Us - Red Ochre

Fear Like Us - Red Ochre
Once loosely categorised under the 'folk punk' banner, across twelve years Melbourne-via-Newcastle quintet Fear Like Us have evolved into a powerful genre-crossing melodic punk act.

On May 6th, 2016 Fear Like Us will release their long awaited second LP ‘Succour’ via Poison City Records.

Fear Like Us's impassioned sound harnesses electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin, expansive drum sounds and frontman Jamie Hay's signature gravelly growl. 'Succour' will deliver shivers down your spine like the the first time you heard crowded house on a balmy summer evening. Lyrically, Hay continues to explore political injustice, the peaks and pitfalls of the modern Australian pysche, love, loss and longing. These are uniquely Australian narratives, powerful, invigorating, earthy and deeply relatable.

Respected as one of the foundation acts signed to the landmark Poison City label, Fear Like Us have inspired the sound of many of the acts on the label, whilst retaining strong folk influences and boasting very broad appeal.

The band will tour nationally to support Succour, capitalising on audiences forged across years on the road with the likes of The Smith Street Band, Against Me!, Blueline Medic, The Hotelier, The Draft, La Dispute and a swag of other influential punk acts.

About this track...

'Red Ochre' places frontman Jamie Hay's signature sombre gravelly vocals front and centre. A powerful narrative driven by big beats, clean guitars and harmonised backing vocals from singer/songwriter Georgia Maq from Melbourne act Camp Cope. A moving song perfect for the Australian winter.
