Fallon Cush - There's A Dark Side to That Moon
The enigmatically named Fallon Cush is the vehicle for Sydney based songwriter Steve Smith. Following international critical acclaim for their first two albums which included 2012's April being premiered on American Songwriter, Fallon Cush return in 2016 with their most fully realised album to date, Bee In Your Bonnet.

The new record continues the refinement and evolution of their sound by introducing a more alt-country, wide-open road feel to the music. Guitars slash and swagger with more abandon and the mood is often darker. Steve Smiths instinctive way with soaring melodies remains as infectious as ever while the band (Steve Smith vocals, guitars. Glen Hannah guitars, Scott Aplin keyboards and Josh Schuberth bass, drums) supported by backing vocalists Suzy Goodwin and Stephanie Grace have found a way to imbue the songs with just the right amount of grit, ragged edges and free-wheeling, widescreen production.

Recorded and mixed by Chris Vallejo (Passenger, Empire of the Sun) at Linear Recording in Sydney and mastered by Stephen Marcussen (Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, Dawes, The Decemberists) at Marcussen Mastering in L.A, Bee In Your Bonnet sees Fallon Cush hitting upon the perfect combination of hook-laden song-craft and organic, timeless musicality.

About this track...

A waxing and waning folk-rock song that starts out with a foreboding acoustic guitar intro leads into a tale of too many full moons bringing too many bad vibes to the innocent and unsuspecting. A hard-edged vocal and a rocking band capture the mood as defiance wins out.
