Earshift Music is an Australian independent record label directed by Jeremy Rose. The label is
dedicated to showcasing some of the most innovative and creative jazz, improvised music
and world music to emerge from Australia. The label has over 20 releases since 2009 by artists
including The Vampires, The Strides, Mister Ott, Jeremy Rose, Steve Barry, James Macaulay,
Sam Anning, I Hold The Lion’s Paw, Ellen Kirkwood & Sirens Big Band, 20th Century Dog, and
Garfish. The projects cover a diverse range of musical styles including contemporary jazz,
reggae, Ethio-soul, ska, hip hop, afrobeat and Indian music. The label is distributed in Australia
through MGM, UK through Proper Music, and Europe through Herbie Martin Music. The vision of
Earshift Music is to foster a community of musicians through the release, promotion and
cataloguing of original creative music.

Ellen Kirkwood is an award-winning composer and trumpeter from Sydney, Australia. Sirens Big Band are a powerhouse collective who champion gender diversity in jazz, and new Australian music.
Our lives are becoming increasingly influenced by the internet. In many ways it’s wondrous; information at our fingertips, news and entertainment from around the world, instant communication with people who are far away. Simultaneously it’s like a cancer that works its way into our psyches. Addictions form, political rifts widen, personal information is sold and our attention becomes a commodity.
