2019 saw the release of Eaglemont’s biggest song to date, angsty rumbler “Hound” as well as a national tour with punk rock outfit Ceres capped off by a packed headline single launch at Fitzroy’s iconic Old Bar.
Eaglemont’s insatiable brand of pop rock served with hooky guitar lines and usual lyrical wit is on display in HN but this time with an added crunch and authentic live feel. Produced by Laura Hancock at SoundPark studios and recorded predominantly live, HN serves as a vibrant/raucous indication of Eaglemont’s live set on show over October and November.
Beginning her musical career at age 5, Eaglemont was trained classically in violin before moving onto acoustic guitar inspired by artists, Missy Higgins and City and Colour. Early songs, ‘Texas’ and ‘Swept Away’ feature an acoustic sound whereas Eaglemont’s newer releases feature the fuzz of electric guitar. Translating her classical violinist teachings to self-taught acoustic guitar, Eaglemont began penning songs in the hopes of articulating the unique challenges of growing up and constantly relocating.
