Since 2008 he's teamed up with collaborators such as Kylie Auldist to produce his own explorations in music which have been hailed as "the work of a genius" by Radio Adelaide, with subsequent spins on Absolute Radio, BBC 6 and Double J. He played main support for Conway Savage and began touring internationally in 2011, before announcing an extended leave from live performance ahead of the release of his debut album in 2014.
He's received advice from Wynton Marsalis and hobnobbed backstage with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Roy Ayers, Jacob Collier and the late Sharon Jones, with whom he danced and kissed on the cheek. In April 2019 he facilitated a live audience Q&A with the rhythm section of seminal funk collective Parliament Funkadelic.
