The Ballad Of Kokoda was written by Lance Birrell after being contacted by the president of the Quirindi RSL. The song will be the theme for the opening ceremony and to promote the Liverpool Plains Kokoda Memorial Walkway, an area from
Quirindi through to Werris Creek in NSW. The Kokoda walkway will be a major tourist attraction across the nation.
