Ceres - Me & You     Rock 28/02/2019
Ceres. Melbourne based four piece creating emotive indie-rock music.
'Me & You' is a love song. It’s me tripping over words that are hard to say—and you, beautiful you, saying exactly what you mean. Me, a dumb shit young kid. And you, the love of my life. Tell ‘em all it’s not for them, they never knew. Say what you want, but it was me, and it was you."

Ivan Ooze - Way Past Them     Hip Hop, Electronic, Pop 17/11/2018
Ivan Ooze cut his teeth at hardcore rap nights such a as a school kid, and within a few years had toured with Ice Cube, Cypress Hill and Wu-Tang Clan.
Ivan Ooze has released Way Past Them. Dedicated to the underdogs. “It’s a stick-it-to-everyone-else song, showing my ability and having fun with rap,” he says unapologetically. "Way Past Them is 3 mins of self-motivation. A hymn for the underdogs who are being underrated & overlooked in their field." His spitfire delivery betrays his love of UK grime and the Prodigy.

For a band whose breakthrough 2016 album, was what Tom Lanyon refers to as a “dark, bottom of everything kind of record”, VITFS is a life-affirming song of hope.

Boydos - Plans     Rock, Blues, Easy Listening 17/08/2018
Growing up in the Blue Mountains, Eddie Boyd spent his youth busking, before studying classical guitar and touring the world as guitarist for Julia Jacklin.
The themes of procrastination and self-doubt, Boyd reckons, are “pretty common for people in their mid-twenties. Everyone’s trying to get their shit together.” Plans is based mainly on his friends (and, okay, a bit on himself). Friends who hope their parents will help cover the rent this month. Friends who use other friends as a yardstick for their own behaviour.

High Tension - Ghost To Ghost     Metal/Punk, Metal, Punk, Hardcore 07/03/2018
High Tension have obliterated genre barriers with their brutal live show, presenting their fierce punk-metal to fans at clubs, large venues and festivals like Laneway, SITG, Dark Mofo & Download.
The lyrical punch in Ghost To Ghost exhibits both fury and patience, and is an exploration of vocalist Karina Utomo's own historical trauma and truth coming to the surface. The track was produced, engineered and mixed by High Tension guitarist Mike Deslandes.

Endless Heights - Drain     Rock, Punk, Experimental, Hardcore 29/11/2016
Endless Heights are an Australian melodic hardcore/post-hardcore band from Sydney.
Drain is about the subtle temptation to control or manipulate others especially across relationships that end in heartbreak. Our true intentions seep out in the shadows of our thoughts and actions. The song plays with this concept and ultimately flips it on its head. It will only end in hurt.

Katie Dey - Fear O' The Light     Pop, Electronic 21/10/2016
Katie Dey’s ‘nightmare pop’ weaves through gorgeous and unexpected soundscapes – at times weirdly off-putting, at others beautiful and ethereal – all anchored by a hypnotic sense of melody.
“Fear O The Light", the album’s lead single is mystifying. The song is jammed to the gills with lo-fi bedroom pop-fuzz, sounding so positive - yet the lyrics display real fear, reinforced by the feeling that the song could crumble away at any moment.

Ceres - Happy In Your Head     Rock 30/07/2016
Since forming in 2012, Ceres’ infectious anthemic songs combined with endless enthusiasm and unmistakably Australian likability has resulted in the Melbourne quartet becoming much loved by critics and punters alike.
Tom Lanyon explains "Happy In Your Head is about finally realising you aren’t in someone’s life anymore. You’re just a memory in their head, and for some sick, sad reason - you are happy enough with that. That that’ll do. It’s the best you’ve got."
