Composed of Sydney’s Marcus Whale and Adelaide’s Travis Cook, Collarbones have become renowned for their passionate blend of electronica.
Fresh from a nationwide tour supporting UV boi فوق بنفسجي, ‘The Cut’ is the latest culmination of Collarbones’ unique style of inter-state production.
The track sees the dynamic duo deliver their signature blend of romanticised heart-stop pop fresh from the oven. Setting out to create a hit, ‘The Cut’ intertwines infectious pop tendencies with a distinctive raw and offbeat edge.
Sonically stirring, ‘The Cut’ conveys the feeling of constantly being haunted by the patterns that govern our behaviour, remembering the past's ruptures and dissonances.
“It’s optimistic though, because when you're in the moment with someone there's hope you can break through and create something totally new, in spite of 'the cut' that's always there, always imbuing us with future failure,” says Marcus on the track.
Armed with a bunch of new material, this isn’t the last that you’ll hear from Collarbones in 2016.
